Punto 20 Nero d’Avola 2015 from the Ottoventi Winery has won the Silver Medal Recognition, prestigious award that guarantees the quality of the wines also by means of the after-contest inspections on the wines.

The Ottoventi Winery located in the Sicilian province of Trapani, was established in 1996 although the Mazara family has a three-generation winemaking experience. Ottoventi, the winery name, translates as “Eight Winds”, symbol of the particularity of the landscape of this part of Sicily.

The Punto 20 Nero d’Avola grapes, true varietal expression of Sicilian wine making, are hand-picked, gently pressed, then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine ages eight months in French oak barriques and rests six months after bottled.

Punto 20 is a pleasant easy-drinking red wine with fruity notes of ripe cherries and berries,  sweet spices and balsamic hints. A mouth-filling taste with well-balanced tannins and long, persistent after-taste.  Great with medium-aged cheese, tomatoe sauce pastas and red meats.
